Christians Concerned for the Community

Our show, featuring artists from all-over Gainesville, will be held March 26th at the Christian Study Center.  Come out and see how service and art are coming together in our community!

My Dad, Marilyn, Yakira, and Eric joined me and my friends from a small group at the Family Church to build a ramp on this cloudy, cold Saturday. (view in full screen by clicking the square on the slideshow!)

CCC had the chance to work with a lady to rebuild her front staircase.  She didn’t have over $100 to buy materials, so we prayed for God to provide, and we committed to find a solution with her.  She found someone who was willing to donate a deck and stair case that was removed from another home, and we had posts and railings left over from a previous job.  God provided!!!  We are in the business of redeeming what was old and discarded, and making things new.

CCC wishes you and yours a Merry Christmas season!

Pray for the staff of CCC as we join thousands of others at the duke energy convention center in Cincinnati, OH for the CCDA (Christian Community Development Association) annual conference, “Pursuing Kingdom Priorities”.   We’ll hear from the likes of John M. Perkins, Shane Claiborne, Jim Wallace, and Soon Chan Rah seeking to get deeper in our pursuit of the Kingdom.

About 100 people, several churches, student groups and community organizations came together to love and serve our neighbors.

Wheww!  Done with day two!  We had about fifty volunteers and a dozen skilled team-leaders tackling 13 service projects!

We’ve started working on the Daniels’ home in Alachua, FL just outside of Gainesville today!  Wow!  What a start!  Thanks to all our sponsors and to all our team leaders and volunteers who worked today, Friday October 2nd!
